School versus Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

I love snow...Don't get me wrong. I love snowball fights and sledding. But right now Mother Nature...you're ruining my life. Because of your little Snowpocolypse/Snowmaggedon, I now have so much work piled on me I think I'm going to be spending as much time digging myself out of my house as I do out of my homework. Also because of your antics you have pushed back my rehersal schedule, which now we're meeting Friday nights. If I didn't have social life before (HA!) I certainly don't have one now. Wait...I have a test Tommorow...nevermind continue with the beginning of the end, and give us off from school please!

Love,

Up and Down, In and Out

I've been meaning to update but my world has been spun into a whirlwind. My teachers have decided that a six day break means that they can pile work on us...and my directors have decided to up the pressure on rehersals. Which means no time for my Dance classes! So I have been swamped with everything! I also came down with bad stomach pains that required two blood tests and an ultrasound by far one of my weirdest experiences that I have ever gone through and after all that I have no idea what caused them!
However I was able to recently escape and went to see the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians film, and I thought is was great! Of course I never read the books...Which that is my one big peeve is when a person sees a movie but hasn't seen the book. It's been a while since I've broken it. It wasn't the best movie I have ever seen, the plot was predictable, and the acting wasn't terrible but not terrific, but overall I liked it. As a Mythologian (A mythology Geek :] ) I loved seeing some of the Greco-Roman mythological 'villians' come back, even though I know they were already conquered watch out if you don't want any possible spoliers look no further...
-------------------------------------------

For instance Medusa (actually conquered by Perseus) owning a Garden Pavillion filled with statues, the Hydra as a nine person janitorial crew at the Parthenon in Nashville, Tennesse (Hercules), and the Lotus Casino where the Lotus Eaters from Odyessy fame came back to keep people in it's halls forever! It was enjoyable and great for the kids I think, especially those who have a casual interest in mythology. However I'm scared a litte too about this film. Will it become the next Harry Potter? It is based on a series of books, has a male protagonist, strong female character, male sidekick friend, teacher/mentor who has been keeping eyes on you, family with a secret, half-blood (Demi-god, versus half-wizard), and it was even directed by Chris Columbus (not of Pinta, Nina, Santa Maria Fame) who directed three of the current six Harry Potter Films. I hope not, but perhaps after reading the books I'll change my mind and other fans will too that maybe this too can become not only an obsession with the movies but also a increase of fandom around the books...which I will be reading once I am done the ones piled up in my room.

Falling, Falling, Snow Gently Falling

For the past few days the mid-atlantic has been pounded by a storm of the decade. And I have been holed up in this for these days. But at this point I'm sick of the snow. I've missed three days of school, I haven't seen my friends, and events like Formal Friday have their dates moved and making other events harder to participate in such as TWLOHA. I also miss school. I know that's really odd, but that's where my friends are. But I had some fun. Who couldn't in two feet of snow? It's not like you can't sled or stay out for too long or go out, or get friends together...oh wait. Well I had a snowball fight with my big brother and won after all these years, so I guess that should be a high point. Here's the point, I miss my friends, I don't like to shovel and when will it be spring?

Watch and Listen

Hey

It's me again. The 'all time reader first time writer' that you've seen everywhere from talk shows to fan letters. A friend and I made a bet that after we have read so many blogs that we would start our own. I delayed because I had schoolwork and some nervousness but then snowmageddon came and here I am. Who am I? Call me Christina, well that is my real name. My hobbies and interests vary. I like history (especially classical history), mythology, music (I play violin), theatre, dance, photography, writing, reading, fashion, and beauty products. Yeah those last two are right. Even though I take two AP classes and honors classes I love my fashion and beauty products at the end of the day. Though I don't have time to apply all I've learned I still pour over Fashion and Beauty magazines cover to cover until I have exhausted all of the information I can. So that's me. If you follow me or not that's your loss on my journey through life.

See you on the interblag
